Special Meeting Tuesday, September 16, 2014 for the Board of Supervisors

The link to the agenda is below. After you have been directed to the agenda, click on the blue link that says FIRE. It will take you to the documentation.
Please check this out because what is interesting about this is Hawkins 'selling point'.  He makes a case that having Hemet's ladder truck is going to benefit the region. How many of you would agree that after 6 months to a year that ladder truck never comes back to Hemet?  The ladder truck will only be here 50% of the time as it is currently worded, but keep in mind that the contract is not yet signed.  You want to know the level of risk that presents to this community? They will in fact turn around and argue that it is an Acceptable Risk. We have a hospital and a large senior population. What level of risk is acceptable to you?

So, now that the Council majority has voted to contract out, we should ask ourselves, why there needs to be a special meeting? Calfire is due to take over July 2015. Are they going to expedite the process?

Also note, and this is public knowledge, that the California Department of Forestry Fire Fighters (aka Calfire. Think of Calfire as a city contract-friendly DBA), contributed to Jeff Stone's State Senate Campaign.
